Terms of Service
Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Abhranti (“we”, “us”), 14057, sobha dream acres, Panathur Main road, Belagere, Varthur, Bangalore-560087, India, and govern your use of the Abhranti app and website (abhranti.ai, the “Service”). By signing in or using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility — students and parents
Under Indian law a person below 18 cannot enter into a contract. If you are under 18, these terms are accepted on your behalf by your parent or adult guardian, and you may use the Service only under their supervision through an account they set up and link for you. The parent or guardian is our contracting party and is responsible for the student’s use of the Service. Adults (parents, guardians, teachers, and students aged 18 or over) accept these terms for themselves.
2. Accounts and sign-in
- You sign in with a supported identity provider (currently Google). You are responsible for keeping that account secure; anything done through your session is attributed to you.
- One account per person. Do not share accounts or impersonate anyone.
- Parents may create and manage linked student profiles and are responsible for them (section 1).
3. The Service
Abhranti provides self-assessment for school subjects: generated question sets, answer evaluation, mastery estimates, and progress reports for students, with review surfaces for parents and teachers. The Service is under active development: features may change, be added, or be withdrawn, and availability is not guaranteed. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable.
4. Your licence to use the Service
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service and its content (questions, solutions, explanations, reports) for your own — or your linked student’s — personal, non-commercial learning. No other rights are granted.
5. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- copy, scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or systematically extract questions, solutions, reports, or any other content from the Service, whether manually or with automated tools;
- reproduce, republish, sell, or redistribute Service content, or use it to build, train, evaluate, or improve any competing product, dataset, or machine-learning model;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or probe the Service, or bypass rate limits, authentication, or other access controls;
- use the Service unlawfully, or upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes others’ rights;
- interfere with the operation of the Service or other users’ access to it.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts involved in such activity (section 11) and pursue any other available remedies.
6. Intellectual property
The Service and everything in it — questions, solutions, explanations, misconception content, reports, software, design, and branding — are owned by Abhranti or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your answers and profile information remain yours; you grant us the licence to process them needed to operate the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback or error reports, we may use them without obligation.
7. Your data
How we collect and handle personal data — including the special protections for users under 18 — is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Payments
The Service is currently free while in development. If and when paid plans are introduced: purchases must be made by a parent, guardian, or other adult; payment instruments are handled by a licensed payment gateway (we never store card details); and pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be published before any charge and reflected in an update to these terms.
9. Educational disclaimer
- Assessment content is generated with the assistance of machine learning and reviewed by us; despite review, it may contain errors. Please report anything that looks wrong so we can fix it.
- Mastery estimates and reports are self-assessment aids. They are not certifications, grade predictions, or professional or academic advice, and we do not promise any particular learning outcome or exam result.
10. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded under Indian law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing), and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be contracted away, or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for the deletion path). We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms or harms the Service or its users, with notice where reasonable. Sections 5, 6, 10, 13, and 14 survive termination.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date above changes with every revision, and material changes are announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any law giving you a different forum, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or the Service.
14. Grievances and contact
